Eileen M. (McGrath) Murphy

Pasco, Washington-Eileen M. Murphy, 94, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at From the Heart Assisted Living Facility. She was the beloved wife of the late William F. Murphy.

          Mrs. Murphy was born in Torrington on April 10, 1923, daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Doherty) McGrath, and had been a Torrington and New London resident most of her life, before moving to Washington State. She was a retired office supervisor with Southern New England Telephone Company, retiring with over 35 years of service. Eileen was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, Torrington, and St. Joseph’s Church, New London. She had been a member of the Torrington Democratic Women’s Club, and a member of the Torrington Democratic Town Committee.

          Survivors include a niece, Martha G. Gallagher of Avon; a nephew, Philip K. Gallagher and his wife Deborah and their children Scott C. and Hannah L. Gallagher, all of Richland, WA. Eileen was predeceased by four brothers, and three sisters.

          Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at 11:00a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church, 17 Squire St., New London. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, New London.
