Eleanor S. (Seitz) Kiesel

Torrington- Eleanor S. Kiesel, 87, died Sunday, September 25, 2016 in her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Julius W. Kiesel.

        Mrs. Kiesel was born in Torrington on September 3, 1929, daughter of the late Carl and Wanda (Wiese) Seitz, and had been a lifelong city resident. She was a retired cashier with Brooks Pharmacy, retiring with 23 years of service. Mrs. Kiesel was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and a member of the church sewing group.

        Survivors include a son, William J. Kiesel and his wife Joanne of Lakeville, MA, a daughter, Jean M. Lynch of Upper Montclair, NJ, four grandchildren; Katherine Lynch, Bevin Lynch, Timothy Kiesel, and Samantha Kiesel, a daughter-in-law, Claudia Fleming of Naugatuck, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kiesel was predeceased by a son, Donald B. Kiesel.

        Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 at 11:00a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St., Torrington. Burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Thursday morning from 10:00a.m. to 11:00a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
