Emil L. Berti

Torrington- Emil L. Berti, 90, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Wolcott Hall, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy A. (Seitz) Berti.

        Mr. Berti was born in Torrington on May 25, 1927, son of the late Louis and Mary (Koczur) Berti, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a retired toolmaker with the Torrington Company, retiring with over 40 years of service. Mr. Berti loved trains and model railroading, and was an avid photographer.

        Survivors include a son, Michael J. Berti of Torrington; a daughter, Karen Ann Marut and her husband Leo of Berlin; a sister, Virginia Johnstone of Carrolton, GA; a granddaughter, Lindsey Ann Schaller and her husband Kevin; a great-grandson, Reed; and several nieces and nephews.

        Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, 2017 at 12:00p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Friday from 11:00a.m. until 12:00p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
