Gordon R. Snyder

Torrington- Gordon R. Snyder, 80, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017 at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center, Torrington. He was the beloved partner of 15 years and fiancee of Elaine Masters.

          Mr. Snyder was born in New Hartford on December 31, 1936. He had been a Torrington resident since 2000, and prior to living in Torrington he had been a Northfield resident for many years. Mr. Snyder was a U.S. Army Veteran, and had been employed as a Roller with Plume and Atwood Manufacturing Company for many years. He was an avid bowler, and had bowled at the Knights of Columbus in Torrington, and enjoyed fishing.

          Survivors include a son, Robert Snyder of MN; a daughter, Denise Keeney and her husband Mikayla, of Winsted; a brother, Gene Andrews and his wife Lynn of FL; two stepsons, Bruce Modeen, Jr., of Waterbury and Edward Modeen of Haverhill, MA; two stepdaughters, Tina Cayia and her husband Edward of FL, and Tracey Bouteiller of Waterbury; 20 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Snyder was predeceased by two sons, Allen Snyder and Daniel Snyder, and a sister, Lola Cyr.

          Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:00am at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 5-7pm at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
