Gregory C. Reder

Torrington- Gregory C. Reder, 57, died Monday, August 14, 2017 at home. He was the beloved husband of Eileen (Kane) Reder.

          Mr. Reder was born in Torrington on September 5, 1960, son of Rose (Derwitsch) Reder of Torrington, and the late Charles Reder. Gregory was a very talented musician, loved to play the guitar, and was a member of the bands Smack and Twist of Fate. He enjoyed art, and writing many poems. Gregory enjoyed all sports, and won several awards in soccer, baseball, basketball, and football. Talented in martial arts, he received a Black Belt in Taekwondo and Karate.

          Survivors, in addition to his wife Eileen and mother Rose, include a daughter, Kelly Love of NC; a stepson, Joseph Parsons of Torrington; three stepdaughters, Heather Morse and her husband Bill Box of Torrington, Cynthia D’Angelo and her husband Christopher of Harwinton, and Meghan Parsons of Torrington; two grandchildren, Isiah Love and Hailey Love; and three nephews. Gregory was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Michelle Parsons.

          Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Friends may call Tuesday evening, from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.

          At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
