James D. O'Connor, Jr.

Torrington- James D. O’Connor, Jr., 75, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 in his home. He was the beloved husband of Janice M. (Audia) O’Connor.

        Mr. O’Connor was born in Torrington on August 4, 1941, son of the late James D. O’Connor, Sr., and Olga (Separy) O’Connor, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Conflict Veteran, and a retired production control employee of the Torrington Company, retiring with 35 years of service. Mr. O’Connor was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, a former member of the Knights of Columbus, enjoyed fishing, skiing, boating, and working around his home.

        Survivors, in addition to his wife Janice, include two sons, Daniel J. O’Connor of Torrington, and Kenneth J. O’Connor and his wife Erica of West Hartland; a granddaughter, Emma E. O’Connor; a brother, Richard O’Connor and his wife JoAnn of South Yarmouth, MA; and several nieces and nephews.

        Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 11:00a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30a.m. Military Honors will be accorded following the Mass. Burial will be private. Friends may call Saturday, July 8, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
