Dear Ann, Hilary and all the Kelley clan,
As my mother noted, "Miss K", as we called her, was a very special part of the lives of the Gallaghers. I feel lucky that I spent time with her growing up. We considered her part of the family and she was present at many of our celebrations. I remember her calm demeanor, easy going manner, sweetness and her laugh (which she termed her horse laugh). Brunches and museum trips with my mother and several of my sisters will be just a bit of my beloved memories of your aunt. (And I hold fond memories of our times together, as well.) Joan was indeed a very special lady. She and I spent many hours over the years up in St. Francis Church choir loft as soloist and organist providing music for various services. Please accept my sincere sympathies for your loss.

Joan was a very precious part of my life as well as in the lives of my children. W e were
lifelong friends, travel companions and in later years, stayed in touch by phone. She was the kindest person I ever met -one who made a difference in this world.
