Torrington- Joseph Nowacki, 83, died Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Valerie Manor, Torrington.

        Mr. Nowacki was born in Torrington on February 3, 1933, son of the late Francis and Frances (Wiergoski) Nowacki, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, was a member of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, and enjoyed book and rock collecting.

        Survivors include a sister, Ann Mornino and her husband Frank of Torrington, three nephews, Jeffrey Paniati, James Paniati, and David Paniati, and one niece, Regina Vitale. He was predeceased by three brothers, Stanley Nowacki, John Nowacki, and Frank Nowacki, a sister, Mary Paniati, and a nephew, Ronald Paniati.

        Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 10:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Mary’s Church, 85 Pulaski St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
