Linda S. (Connor) Guildford

Torrington- Linda S. Guildford, 73, wife, mother, and three-time cancer survivor, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital.

        Mrs. Guildford was born in Portland, ME on October 3rd, 1942, the daughter of the late John D. “Capuano Buick Cadillac” Connor, ­­and Doris (Cole) Connor Clark. A Torrington resident since 1963, Linda was a former employee of Torin Corp/Nidec, and a member of the Torrington Democratic Town Committee, and the Torin Credit Union. She took great pride in caring for her family and home, and could often be found feeding and tending to local wildlife. Linda will be greatly missed and affectionately remembered by her family and friends.

        In addition to her beloved husband of 52 years, Harvey, Linda is survived by her son, Michael Guildford and Bernice of Cascade, CO, a daughter, Laurie Guildford of Torrington, a sister, Judith Monahan and her husband Harry of Casco, ME, a brother, Scott Connor of Torrington, and sisters Wendy and Marion, and brother Ralph Clark of Portland, ME. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Jeremy Usher and his wife Merideth of Bristol, ME, and Danielle Sramek of Torrington, four great-grandchildren, James, Isobel, Amelia, and David “WD,” and her much-loved cat Peenuts. Linda was predeceased by a sister, Janice Sousa, of Portland, ME.

        Graveside services will be held Tuesday, August 9th, 2016 at 10:30a.m. at Winchester Center Cemetery, South Road, Winchester. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
