Mary Frances (Bedore) Skarupa

Spring Hill, Florida- Mary Frances Skarupa, 97, of Grandfather Mountain, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Skarupa.

        Mrs. Skarupa was born in Winsted on September 22, 1919, daughter of the late Adolphus and Mary (Boutin) Bedore, and had been a Torrington resident for many years before moving to Florida in 1991. She was a retired executive secretary with the Torrington Company, retiring with over 35 years of service.

        Survivors include her sister, Helen Pratt of Torrington; a niece, Sheila DeManuel and her husband Edward of Simsbury, sisters-in-law, Marianne Blouin of Greenville, SC, and Barbara Skarupa of Torrington; a brother-in-law, Robert Hallock of Watertown, and several, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Dolores Ahearn, and brothers, Dolph, Chester, and Norman Bedore.

        Funeral services will be held Monday, June 5, 2017 at 11:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Entombment will follow in St. Peter Mausoleum, Torrington. Friends may call Monday morning from10:00a.m. until time of service.
