Winsted- Roy E. Ison, 70, died Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield, MA. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Louchen) Ison.
Mr. Ison was born in Freeport, NY on November 17, 1946, son of the late Edmund and Dorothy (Burt) Ison, and had been an area resident for most of his life. In his free time, he enjoyed camping and cooking.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Maureen, include two sons, Darren E. Ison of Torrington, and Eric L. Ison of Newington; a daughter, Amanda L. Sheagren and her husband Scott of Torrington; three grandchildren, Joshua Ison, Natalie Sheagren, and Brianna Sheagren; and two sisters, Robin Lamb and Noelann Gallagher, both of New York. Mr. Ison was predeceased by a sister, Jeanette.
Services and burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
