Shirley A. (Smedick) Leonard

Torrington- Shirley A. Leonard, 87, died Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Wolcott Hall, Torrington. She was the wife of the late Ernest F. Leonard.

        Shirley was born in Torrington on September 4, 1929, daughter of the late Earl and Nellie (Maczokas) Smedick, and had been a lifelong city resident. She was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church, enjoyed cooking, gardening, and had a great love for animals.

        Survivors include three sisters, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

        Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 at 12:30p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Friday morning from 11:30a.m. to 12:30p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
