New Hartford- Virginia M. French, 82, died Monday, July 10, 2017 at Valerie Manor, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Alden G. French.
Mrs. French was born in Torrington on September 14, 1934, daughter of the late Frank and Jennie (Deak) Ur, and had been a lifelong area resident. Virginia was an avid reader, enjoyed baking, and loved watching live theater at the Bushnell. She loved all animals, especially her cat, Frodo.
Survivors include a son, David A. French and his wife Janice of Torrington; a daughter, Lori F. Hall and her husband Jack of New Hartford; and a grandson, Jeremy D. French. Mrs. French was predeceased by three sisters, Jennie French, Dorothy Puzinski, and Mary Ann Burnett.
Services and burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be private.
