Torrington- Alan D. Ross, 63, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital Hospice, Hartford, with Jean Kincaid-Ross, his beloved wife of 31 years at his side.
Alan was born in Torrington on April 13, 1953, son of the late Alfred and Shirley (Downs) Ross, and had been a Torrington resident most of his life. He retired from the Law and Legislative Reference Department of the Connecticut State Library in 2015. He had formerly worked in retail and manufacturing, and owned a comic book store in Litchfield. Alan enjoyed reading, studying politics, history, collecting books, cooking, and gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his wife Jean, include an uncle, Howard “Billy” Ross and his wife Gretchen of Torrington, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved Himalayan cats Willy, Winston, and Grace.
Services and burial will be private.
