Andrew F. Cook

Torrington- Andrew F. Cook, 71, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 in his home. He was the beloved husband of 45 years of Irene M. (Zaharek) Cook.

          Mr. Cook was born in Sharon on August 22, 1946, son of the late John and Ottilie (Riedel) Cook, and had been a Torrington resident since 1969. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Era Veteran, and was a licensed plumber by trade. Mr. Cook had been an Amsoil Synthetic Oil dealer and a retired Lift Supervisor at Mohawk Mountain Ski Area, retiring in 2014 with over 50 years of service. He enjoyed skiing, archery, tinkering around the house, and loved his pet rabbits.

          Survivors, in addition to his wife, Irene, include a daughter, Lisa DiFrancesco and her husband Bill, of Bethany; and a brother-in-law, Robert Zaharek of East Litchfield.

          Graveside services and burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
