Torrington- Carmel G. Snedeker, 83, passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Valerie Manor, Torrington.
Carmel Snedeker was born in New Haven on November 3, 1934, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Anna (Almondi) DeStefano, and was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck. She was a retired executive secretary with BAE Systems, retiring with 34 years of service. Carmel enjoyed dancing, embroidery, and exercising at Planet Fitness.
Survivors include a son, Edward J. Snedeker, Jr., of FL; two daughters, Gail A. Williams and her husband Robert of New Milford, and Roxanne Bosco and her husband Michael of Litchfield; three grandchildren, Matthew Mills of NC, Michael Bosco and his wife Denise of Harwinton, and Katie Swart and her husband Dan of Litchfield, six great-grandchildren, Summer Mills, Brookelynn Swart, Riley Bosco, Nora Bosco, Christopher Snedeker, and Jonathon Snedeker; a brother, James DeStefano and his wife Mary of New Haven; and a sister, Eleanor Carbone of Guilford. Carmel was predeceased by a grandson, Jack Mills, Jr.; two brothers, Anthony and Angelo DeStefano; three sisters, Phyllis Anthony, Helen Giaquinto, and Lucy Tara; and a special friend, Ken Windover.
Graveside services will be held Friday, October 5, 2018 at 1:00p.m.at St. Bernard Cemetery, New Haven. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
