Catherine V. (Valigorsky) Kupco

Torrington- Catherine V. Kupco, 95, passed away peacefully Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Brookdale of Litchfield Hills, Torrington. 

        Mrs. Kupco was born in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia on February 13, 1922, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Roman) Valigorsky, and had been a Torrington resident most of her life. She was a retired employee of the Hayden Manufacturing Company, and Seth Thomas Clock Company. Catherine was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church and was a wonderful cook who enjoyed gardening and travel. She will be remembered for her deep and loving devotion to her family, especially her children and her brothers and sisters.

        Survivors include a son, Robert J. Kupco of Torrington; a daughter, Janet M. Kupco of Pleasant Hill, CA; three brothers, Dr. John J. Valigorsky of Westfield, MA, Joseph P. Valigorsky and his wife Diane of Palm Bay, FL, and Michael J. Valigorsky of Torrington; a sister, Veronica Danese and her husband Raymond of Medford Lakes, NJ; a granddaughter, Tabitha L. Palkewicz and her husband Richard of Fruitland, MD; a great-grandson, O’Shea A. Kupco; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Kupco was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Kupco, and her sisters, Mary Valigorsky and Ann Perlotto.

        A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10:30a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove St., Torrington. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington.
