Elsie M. (Gottschall) Gangell

Torrington- Elsie Marjorie Gangell, 84, passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019 at Valerie Manor, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of Wallace E. Gangell.

          Mrs. Gangell was born in Torrington on December 23, 1934, daughter of the late David and Betty (Schindelbauer) Gottschall, and had been a lifelong city resident. She was a retired secretary with the Washington Insurance Agency in Marbledale, retiring with over 25 years of service. Mrs. Gangell was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Torrington, and had been a member of their sewing group. She also enjoyed knitting and gardening.

          Survivors, in addition to her husband, Wallace, include a son, Mark W. Gangell of Torrington; a daughter, Cheryl A. Aeschliman and her husband Kit of Falls Village; a brother, Fred P. Gottschall; a sister, Betty A. Grunder and her husband John; a grandson, Dylan S. Gangell and his wife Kallyn, all of Torrington; and a great-granddaughter, Zoey L. Gangell. Mrs. Gangell was predeceased by a brother, David Gottschall.

          Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 11:00a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Monday, November 4, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington.
