John W. Czapor

Torrington- John W. Czapor, 75, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of 56 years of Marcia (Ficere) Czapor.

          Mr. Czapor was born in Torrington on January 10, 1943, son of Josephine (Bilas) Czapor of Torrington and the late Daniel Czapor and had been a lifelong area resident. He was U.S. Navy Veteran and was a retired electrician superintendent with Ducci Electric, retiring with 35 years of service. Mr. Czapor was a 45-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Locals 660 and 488.He was a member of the Torrington Lodge of Elks, the American Legion, and the National Arbor Association. Mr. Czapor enjoyed working on his property, bee keeping, and tapping maple trees for syrup. He will be remembered for his hard work ethic and great love of family.

          The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Torrington Smilow Cancer Care Center and the Visiting Nurses of Connecticut.

          Survivors, in addition to his wife Marcia, and his mother, Josephine, include three sons, Jonathan J. Czapor and Scott P. Czapor, both of Torrington, and Christopher D. Czapor and his wife Susan of Newington; a brother, Daniel Czapor and his wife Judy of Goshen; three grandchildren, Shaun Czapor, Daniel Czapor, and Olivia Czapor; and several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will private. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
