Lucille E. (Brown) Weingart

New Hartford- Lucille E. Weingart, 95, died Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of 77 years of the late Gottfried Weingart.

        Mrs. Weingart was born in West Charleston, VT, on September 26, 1920, daughter of the late Edgar and Lillian (Jenkins) Brown and had been a New Hartford resident for many years. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and caring for her family. Mrs. Weingart helped her late husband, Gottfried, in the operation of Green Valley Farm, which they owned for over 50 years.

        Survivors include two sons, Jack R. Weingart and his spouse Bert Lavertue of Windsor, and David W. Weingart of New Hartford, one daughter, Barbara L. Palmer and her husband Wayne of Ocala, FL, a son-in-law, Joseph Barbieri of Torrington, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Weingart was predeceased by a daughter, Joyce M. Barbieri.

        The family would like to express their sincere thanks to VNS Hospice for the kind and compassionate care shown to Lucille during her final days.

        Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. 
Friends may call Friday, March 4, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
