Margaret F. (Kuchar) Shuhi

Torrington- Margaret F. Shuhi, 93, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry F. Shuhi.

          Mrs. Shuhi was born in Slovakia on June 24, 1925, daughter of the late Andrew and Anna (Kuchar) Kuchar, and had been a Torrington resident for over 75 years. She was a retired inspector with the Torrington Company and had also been employed with the Fitzgerald Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Shuhi was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Torrington and a member of the St. Anne’s Altar Society. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and will be remembered for her great love for her family.

          Survivors include a son, James Shuhi and his wife Susan; a daughter, Karen Gelormino, all of Torrington; three grandchildren, Mikaela Shuhi, Jordan Shuhi, and Paul Shuhi, Jr.; and a great-grandson, Wesley Shuhi. Mrs. Shuhi was predeceased by two sons, Michael Shuhi and Paul Shuhi, Sr.

          A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11:00a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 116 Grove St., Torrington. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
