Torrington – Maureen Claire “Mo” Hubert, 71 passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late George L Hubert.
Maureen was born in Boston, MA on November 2, 1948, daughter of the late William and Lorraine (Barret) Kincaid and had been a Torrington resident since 1950. She was the owner and Executive Director of Friendly Hands Food Bank, serving Torrington and the surrounding communities for nearly 30 years. In addition to the passion she had for helping the community, Mo was a gifted musician, vocalist and guitar instructor.
Maureen is survived by her brother William Kincaid, sisters Katherine Ploski and husband Eugene, Lorraine Coolidge and husband Charles, her nephews John Celadon, John Coolidge, Eugene Kincaid, Trevor and Jeremy Kincaid and nieces Anita Celadon Mihok and Tera Richard. She is also survived by many great nieces and nephews along with many other cherished family members and friends.
In addition to her husband George, she was predeceased by her beloved niece Charmaine Coolidge DeMaio.
Family and friends may call Friday, January 24th from 5:00- 7:00pm at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St, Torrington. A Christian Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 25th at 10am at St Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St, Torrington. Burial will follow in the new St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington.
