Michael J. Berti

Torrington- Michael J. Berti, 64, passed away Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford.

          Michael was born in Torrington on June 14, 1954, son of the late Emil and Dorothy (Seitz) Berti, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a retired welder, working in the iron industry, and enjoyed railroading, auto racing and spending time at Lime Rock Park.

          Survivors include a sister, Karen B. Marut and her husband Leo of Berlin; a niece, Lindsey A. Schaller and her husband Kevin of Cromwell; a grand-nephew, Reed Michael Schaller; longtime friends, Rob and Carol Kissh; and a group of friends and supportive neighbors, especially the Howard family.

          Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 10:00a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington.

          At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
