Muriel S. (Scovell) Biancardi

Torrington- Muriel S. Biancardi, 85, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew V. Biancardi, Jr.

          Mrs. Biancardi was born in Newport, NH, on May 28, 1933, daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Martin) Scovell, and had been a Torrington resident for over 70 years. She was a retired machine operator with the Rexam Corporation, retiring in 2003. Mrs. Biancardi was a longtime member of Center Congregational Church, Torrington. She was an avid reader and loved building puzzles, bingo, playing Skip-Bo, cooking for her boys, and spending time with her grandchildren.

          Survivors include a son, Anthony M. Biancardi, Sr., and his wife Elizabeth of Torrington; a daughter-in-law, Susan Henry of Torrington; three grandchildren, Anthony M. Biancardi, Jr., Andrew M. Biancardi, and Jessica A. Hopkins; two great-grandchildren, Jacqueline Carlson, and Gage Hopkins. Mrs. Biancardi was predeceased by a son, Charles Henry.

          Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Monday, July 23, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
