Robert J. Dew

Torrington- Robert J. Dew, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of Berdena M. (Jacques) Dew.

          Mr. Dew was born in New Britain on January 16, 1939, son of the late Arthur and Josephine (Atchue) Dew and had been a lifelong Harwinton-Torrington resident. Robert was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Mr. Dew was mechanically inclined and was self-employed as a truck driver and mechanic. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and had a great love for animals.

          Survivors, in addition to his wife, Berdena, include two daughters, Laurie Dew-Church and her husband Douglas D. Church, Jr., of Goshen, and Pamela DeMichiel and her husband David of Torrington; and two grandchildren, Geoffrey A. Church and Marissa K. Church. Mr. Dew was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Barbieri.

          Funeral services will be held Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Monday morning from 10:00a.m. until the time of the service.
