Robert Lyman Reed

Torrington – Robert L. Reed, 62, of Torrington, died Thursday January 11, 2018 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Bobbielee (Dunn) Reed.

Robert was born in Torrington on April 18, 1955, son of the late Chester B. and Henrietta A. (Smith) Reed and was lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving as a medic. Robert was the proprietor of Peerless Painting for the past 40 years. He was a volunteer at FISH and the Winsted Soup Kitchen. Robert was an excellent auto mechanic, furniture repairer. He enjoyed music, played the drum and bass.

Survivors in addition to his wife Bobbielee include his children Dylan Reed of Brookfield, Chester B. Reed III of Winsted, Elisabeth A. Reed of Torrington, and Robert L. Reed of Winsted, two brothers, Chester B. Reed and his wife Linda and Todd Reed and his wife Stephfani all of Bristol, five sisters, Gail Cody and her husband James of Boston, Rebecca Reed of Farmington, Margaret Reed of Litchfield, Jane Reed of Bethlehem, and Sandra Reed of Atlanta and several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by two brothers, James Reed and Kevin Reed.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 4:00 P.M. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect Street, Torrington. Burial will be private. Friends may Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M.
