Tessie (Jasenski) Melville

Torrington- Tessie Melville, 89, died at home Saturday, August 26, 2017, surrounded by her loving caregivers.

        Tessie was born in Torrington on January 26, 1928, the last child of the late Felix and Mary (Kaminski) Jasenski. She had been a lifelong Torrington and Winsted resident. Tessie was employed for many years at the Torrington Manufacturing Company, and later at LARC Industries. She loved nothing more than visiting the senior centers in Winsted and Torrington, and the many happy hours she spent at home on East Main Street in Torrington.

        Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. Tessie was predeceased by her brothers, Edmund, Chester, and Henry; sisters, Sophie Jennie, and Valeria; and many beloved brothers and sisters-in-law.

Tessie’s family would like to thank all of her caregivers, especially Kim Thomas, for their outstanding care over the past 3 years.

        Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at 11:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at noon. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Wednesday morning, from 10:30a.m. to 11:30a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
