It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Alice North on Saturday October 21, 2023, at her home.
Alice was supported by LARC for 39 years and will forever hold a special place in our hearts and memories. Alice’s bold and feisty personality captured the heart of those she met, and many of us will forever think of Alice every time we see a jewelry box. Some memories that were shared of Alice include that she always gave her staff a run for their money (sometimes literally). She referred to male staff as Mr. Pond and there were a few she was quite fond of including Bob, Tom and Wayne. At Main St. she enjoyed sitting in her chair flipping through magazines, scolding her housemate Raoul for talking to her and blaming her trucker burps on John. She loved to go for rides but hated having to wait at the red lights. She loved corn flakes and her peg boards and would cackle when she dropped the bin on the floor. Back in the day she enjoyed spending her Fridays with Heidi shopping and going out to eat. If she was fond of you, she would give you a bracelet or jewelry box.
When Alice moved to her final home at Old North Road, she completed their family and was so loved by her housemates and staff. She will be so missed by everyone who was blessed to spend time with her.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 1:00p.m. at Forest View Cemetery (South Cemetery), 171 Rowley St., Winsted, CT 06098.
