Torrington- Alicja Bawol, 59, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington.

Alicja was born in Poland on November 12, 1960, daughter of the late Leopold and Maria Bawol, and had been a Torrington resident for over 30 years. She had been a communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church, Torrington. Alicja enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. Her house was always open to anyone with a home-cooked meal or a place to stay.

Survivors include two daughters, Monica Piwowarczyk and her husband Brian Gonzalez of Litchfield, and Lidia Piwowarczyk and her partner Neil Reising of Goshen; three grandchildren, Aiden Gonzalez, Luke Reising, and Jasia Piwowarczyk; a brother, Jesse Bawol of Torrington; a sister-in-law, Grace Bawol of FL; her ex-husband, Stanislaw Piwowarczyk; a niece, Ania Bawol; and three nephews, Chris, Sebastian, and Robert Bawol. Alicja was predeceased by a son, Mark Piwowarczyk, and a brother, Leo Bawol.

Services will be held privately. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
