Andrew Ewart Obituary

Torrington- Andrew A. Ewart, 92, passed away Monday, July 28, 2025, at The Cottage at Litchfield Hills, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn J. (Entwistle) Ewart.

        Mr. Ewart was born in Pawtucket, RI, on November 4, 1932, son of the late Andrew and Consuelo (Davis) Ewart, and had been a NY resident for many years before moving to Torrington 8 months ago. Mr. Ewart was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired Chemist. He was a devout member of Christ St. John’s Episcopal Church, Champlain, NY, a Master Mason, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Ewart believed in public service and served on the Board of Education and Rouses Point Library Board.

        Survivors include three children, Susan Ewart (Laura Apinis) of Harwinton, Steven Ewart (Angelique) of Murfreesboro, TN, and Peter Ewart (Susan) of Ellicott City, MD; three grandchildren, Madison Ewart, Alexander Ewart, and Jacob Ewart; and a sister, Phyllis Stoltz, of Orlando, FL. Mr. Ewart was predeceased by a sister, Janet Adams.

        Services will be held October 25, 2025, at 10:00a.m. at Christ & St. John’s Church, 18 Butternut St., Champlain, NY. Burial with Full Military Honors in Glenwood Cemetery, Champlain, will follow.
