Torrington- Anna B. Kalwarski Toloski, 96, passed away Saturday, March 13, 2021 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Kalwarski and the late Charles Toloski.
Mrs. Toloski, daughter of the late Stanley and Katherine (Novak) Bebyn, was born in Fall River, MA, on December 18, 1924, and spent her younger years in Poland before immigrating back to the United States in 1946. She was a retired proprietor of Ed’s Package Store in Torrington, which she operated for over 30 years. Mrs. Toloski was an active longtime communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church of St. John Paul the Great Parish in Torrington, and a member of the Polish National Alliance. She enjoyed gardening, in particular fruits and flowers, and cooking and baking traditional Polish dishes for family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Richard E. Kalwarski of Litchfield, and Eugene M. Kalwarski and his wife, Karen, of Leesburg, VA; two daughters, Christina M. Chasler of Winchester, VA, and Diane A. Considine and her husband, Timothy, of Torrington; two brothers, Roman Bebyn and Kazimierz Bebyn, both of Poland; 10 grandchildren, Tricia Hounsell and her husband, Thomas, Barton Chasler and his wife, Amy, Tara Kalwarski, Kyle Kalwarski and his wife, Christina, Brett Kalwarski, Sara O’Connell and her husband, Charles, Lukas Kalwarski, Ryan Considine, Brandon Considine and his wife, Carolyn, and David Considine and his wife, Marissa; 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Toloski was predeceased by seven younger siblings, Stanley, Eugene, Edward, Jerry, Daniella, Helcia, and Ursula. She was also predeceased by a son-in-law, Thomas Chasler, and a granddaughter, Anna Chasler.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Anna’s caregivers, Anna Foster, Julie Bennett and Madison Conlon, for their loving and wonderful care.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 20, 2021 at 11:00a.m. at St. Peter Church, 107 E. Main St., Torrington. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Family and friends attending the services are kindly asked to please wear a mask and maintain social distancing guidelines. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
