Anna S. (Hurrey) Michalowski

Torrington- Anna S. Michalowski, 99, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Valerie Manor, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Walter H. Michalowski.

        Mrs. Michalowski was born in Kent on March 7, 1925, daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Tirpak) Hurrey and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a retired machine operator with the Torrington Company, retiring with over 30 years of service. Mrs. Michalowski was a communicant of St. Thomas of Villanova Church, Goshen in her early years, and later spent most of the rest of her life as a communicant of the former St. Mary’s Church, Torrington. She was a member of the Columbiettes and loved to spend time with her family.

        Survivors include two sons, Alexander W. Michalowski and his wife, Beverly, and Gerald H. Michalowski and his wife, Karen; a sister, Urania Stolicny, all of Torrington; a sister-in-law, Anna Knox of Litchfield; five grandchildren, Michelle Gallant her spouse Joseph Gallant, Katrina Woods, Jeremy Michalowski, Brian Michalowski and his spouse, Raul Acevedo, and Amy Michalowski; three great-grandchildren Katelyn Woods and Bryce and Lauren Gallant, and several nieces and nephews.

        Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024, at 10:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. Entombment will follow in St. Peter Mausoleum, Torrington. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:00 to 10:00a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
