Arthur C. Hanke, III

Torrington- Arthur C. Hanke, III, 84, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at his home. He was the beloved husband of 47 years of Jano (Jakubowski) Hanke.

Mr. Hanke was born in Brooklyn, NY, on November 23, 1941, son of the late Arthur C. Hanke, Jr., and Virginia (Heun) Hanke, and had been a Torrington resident for many years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving aboard the aircraft carrier USS Antietam during the Cuban Missile Crisis and a retired employee of SNET, retiring with many years of service. Arthur was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Trail Manager at Burr Pond State Park, and volunteered with the Torrington Historical Society. He loved to spend time outdoors and be in nature.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, Jano, include several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
