Goshen- Barbara L. Bassett, 92, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond I. Bassett.
Mrs. Bassett was born in New Britain on July 3, 1927, daughter of the late John R. Lee, M.D., and Winifred (Marcellus) Lee, and had been a Devon and Trumbull resident before moving to Goshen in 1977. She was a retired Registered Nurse, working at her father’s medical practice, and later at Milford Hospital. She was a member of the Torrington Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Mrs. Bassett enjoyed dancing, traveling, reading, knitting, and most of all, spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Richard Hendricks and his wife Chris of Meriden; a daughter, Deborah Monda and her husband Joseph of Goshen; two grandchildren, Jesse Monda and his wife Briana of Goshen, and Richard Hendricks of Meriden; a brother, James Lee of Sarasota, FL; one nephew, and two nieces. Mrs. Bassett was predeceased by a brother, John Douglas Lee.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury, will be held privately.
