Torrington- Beverly Anne Farrell, 76, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2026, at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late James M. Farrell.
Mrs. Farrell was born in Springfield, MA, on April 5, 1950, daughter of the late Walter and Carol (Menard) Burek. Beverly had a long career as a daycare provider, a calling that grew from her deep love of children. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, supporting their activities and taking pride in being “everyone’s grandma.”
Beverly made every person she came in contact with better and loved with her whole heart. She gave everything and took nothing, finding her greatest joy in the happiness of others. She loved to bake and share with everyone, especially at the holidays, when she made sure each family member had their favorites, including Italian cookies, congo squares, pumpkin bread, and blueberry bread.
Beverly also loved the ocean. After vacationing on Cape Cod for many years, she and her husband Jim moved there and enjoyed many happy years before returning to Torrington to be close to their grandchildren. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the many memories she shared with family and friends.
Survivors include her children, Michele Kavula, Daniel Kavula (Melissa), Michael Farrell, and Cynthia Fuller; a brother, Richard Burek (Pamela); grandchildren, Kristi Kavula (Kyle Hitchcock), Walter Arndt, IV. (Makalia), Heather Farrell-Dunn (Christine), and Kassie Kavula; and great-grandchildren, Matteo, Jerric, Zaylen, Briella, and Theodore.
Services will be held Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at United Congregational Church, Torrington. Burial will follow in Torringford Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington.
