Dana K. Winters

Torrington- Dana K. Winters, 75, passed away Monday, July 22, 2019 at VITAS Hospice at St. Mary’s Hospital, Waterbury. He was the beloved husband of Julianne E. (Kandefer) Winters.

          Mr. Winters was born in Hartford on June 10, 1944, son of the late George and Elizabeth (Shortell) Winters, and had been a Torrington resident for over 40 years. He was a retired computer programmer, a communicant of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington, and a member of the Sullivan Senior Center. He enjoyed RVing and traveling throughout the Northeast.

          Survivors, in addition to his wife, Julianne, include two brothers, Richard Winters of Manchester and Eric Winters and his wife Nancy of Windsor; a sister, Dianne Gustafson of Manchester; a brother-in-law, Daniel Kandefer, Jr. and his wife Mary Ann of Torrington; and several nieces and nephews.

          A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11:00a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington. Burial in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington, will be private. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.

          At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Archdiocese of Hartford Office of Radio and Television, 15 Peach Orchard Rd., Prospect, CT 06712.
