Deborah Rood Obituary

Torrington- Deborah J. Rood, 62, passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington due to complications with her diabetes.

Deborah was born in Waterbury on October 11, 1958 at Saint Mary’s Hospital, daughter of the late Wesley Rood, Sr., and Helen (Kynoch) Rood, and had been a Torrington area resident most of her life. She loved all animals especially her cats (Mystic and Smokey). She loved playing video games and role-playing games. She loved to play dungeons and dragons; most people knew her as the DM (dungeon master). She loved to spend time with her grandchildren playing outside or taking them swimming at Lake Harwinton. She had a heart of gold and loved everyone like family. All her friends and family loved her sense of humor and she will be missed by many.

Survivors include sons, David Rood and his Fiancée, Amanda Conklin, of Torrington; Christopher Carbone and his wife Anne Carbone, of Torrington;  a daughter, Tricia Rood and her husband Nathan Andersen of Fairbanks, AK; a brother, Wesley Rood, Jr., of Torrington; and many grandchildren, Haley Rood, David Rood, Jr., Nicholas Dvorovy, Taylor Dvorovy, Christopher Carbone, Jr., Phoenix Carbone, Blake Carbone, and Harmony Carbone. Predeceased by a sister Diane Rood.

Services will be held privately by family. Please contact her daughter Tricia for more information on the services. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
