Donna J. (Holtman) Hovanak

Torrington- Donna J. Hovanak, 77, passed away on her birthday, Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.

          She was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ann (Ohotnicky) Holtman. Donna was a lifelong city resident, graduating from Torrington High School, Class of 1964.  Her most rewarding occupation was working in the healthcare field as a companion for the elderly. Her friendly, compassionate, and kind nature brought much joy to her clients. Donna liked to do arts and crafts and would often give away her artistic creations. She enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, especially for Halloween.  Donna delighted in going to Zumba and Pilates classes at Energy Fitness, where she had great fun and made lasting friendships . During the summer, her favorite place was at the beach at Mt. Tom State Park. She also looked forward to going out to lunch with her good friends. Donna will be remembered for her great work ethic, fun spirit, and her kind and generous heart.

          Survivors, in addition to her husband, John, include three brothers, her twin, Raymond Holtman and his wife, Peg, of Harwich, MA, David Holtman and his wife, Debbie, of Burlington, and Dennis Holtman and his wife, Barbara, of Torrington, a sister, Judy Palm of Avon, several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Donna was predeceased by a sister, Patricia St. John.

          Funeral services and burial in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington, will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
