Elda C (Maniccia) Rosenbeck

Torrington- Elda C. Rosenbeck, 88, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Wolcott Hall Nursing Facility, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late John R. Rosenbeck.

        Mrs. Rosenbeck was born in Torrington on October 24, 1935, daughter of the late Leo and Jennie (Dicicco) Maniccia, and had been a lifelong area resident. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Harwinton, and a member of the Ladies Guild. Mrs. Rosenbeck was an avid reader. After raising her children, she went on to teach at Young Beginnings Daycare until her retirement, she took great joy preparing craft projects for the children. Caring for the children brought her great joy.

        Survivors include a son, John W. Rosenbeck and his partner, Susan Weik; a daughter, Donna M. Rogala and her husband, Allen, all of Torrington; two grandchildren, David Lamanna and Seth Lamanna; and two sisters, Anna Maniccia and Francis Maniccia; sister in-law, Norma Maniccia; along with several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mrs. Rosenbeck was predeceased by brothers, Carlo Maniccia, Mario Maniccia, Angelo Maniccia, Armand Maniccia; and sisters, Josephine Calderone, Mary Torneo and Victoria Maniccia. She loved talking about her large family and growing up on a farm.  

        A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 11:00a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 78 Litchfield Rd., Harwinton. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
