Torrington- Elihu N. Ford-Bey, 65, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Village Green of Bristol Nursing Facility.
Elihu was born in Phoenixville, PA, on March 23, 1957, son of Georgia Lee Jones of Norristown, PA, and the late John Ford-Bey Sr, and had been a Torrington area resident for over 40 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a retired truck driver, driving for over 30 years. Elihu was a member of Refuge Church of Christ, Waterbury, and enjoyed taking walks, nature, and traveling. He loved spending time with his grandson he called ‘tank’ and watching him grow. He enjoyed listening to classic R&B music from the 70s and reading biblical scriptures.
Survivors, in addition to his Mother, Georgia, include two daughters, Bryonna Ford-Bey and Javonna Ford-Bey, both of Torrington; a grandson, Leroy Angel Roberts, siblings, John Richard Ford-Bey, Jr., Jamel Ford-Bey, Sydney Scott Gantt, Jillion Gantt, Cythina Rice and Rasheena Ford-Bey. Plus step-children and step-grandchildren as well as large extended family and friends.
His long-term girlfriend, Joice Williams, pre-deceased him in 2015 and his younger brother Matheno Ali Ford-Bey pre-deceased him in 2004.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at 11:00a.m. at Refuge Church of Christ, 13 Hawkins St., Waterbury. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery, 317 Bow Ln, Middletown. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
