Torrington-Elizabeth O. Pollack, 97, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Pollack.
Mrs. Pollack, born in Norwalk on August 9, 1926, was the daughter of the late John and Helen (Putnoki) Ott and a Torrington resident for 70 years. A communicant of St John the Paul the Great Parish, she was a devout and faithful Catholic.
Elizabeth enjoyed raising her family, trips to the casino, duck pin bowling, needlework, reading the newspaper, holidays, birthdays, cruises, fireworks and weekends at the lake. She worked as a produce clerk for Hoffman's Market and Finest Grocery Store. She was a certified hairdresser and an active Cub Scout Den Mother. Her greatest joy and pleasure in life was time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Frank E. Pollack and his wife, Carolyn, of Southington, and John E. Pollack and his wife, Mary, of Winsted; two grandchildren, Michael Pollack and his wife, Catherine, of Cheshire, and Karen Visconti and her husband, Peter, of Cheshire; four great-grandchildren, Jacob Pollack, Bennett Pollack, Olivia Visconti, and Alexandria Visconti; and a niece, Melody Mulvihill(My Melody), of Old Saybrook.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 26, 2024, at 10:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30a.m. at the funeral home.
