Torrington- Elizabeth N. Wilson, 94, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021, at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Wilson, Jr.
Known as Betty to most, she was born in Torrington on May 11, 1926, daughter of the late Elmer and Maud (Shepard) North, and had been a Torrington resident most of her life. She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Sullivan Senior Center and the Charlotte Hungerford Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed music, playing the piano, UConn Basketball, and spending time at the Torrington Library. In the past year she enjoyed the fresh air with friends and family in socially distant garage gatherings.
Survivors include her son, Jeffrey N. Wilson and his wife, Jennifer, of Torrington; two daughters, Nancy E. Mendonca and her husband, Kenneth, of Portsmouth, RI, and Kathleen E. Heider of Portland, OR; She was the beloved Nana to three grandchildren, Jessica Hurd (Wilson) and her husband, Martin, Meghan Canale (Wilson) and her husband, Stephen, and Kaleigh Mendonca; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Hurd and Mallory Hurd; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services and burial in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington, were held privately. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
