Elizabeth "Betty" (Sidlosky) LaGamba

Torrington- Elizabeth “Betty” A. LaGamba, 92, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. She was the beloved wife of the late Nicholas C. LaGamba, Sr.

Elizabeth was born in Torrington on June 19, 1933, daughter of the late Jacob and Anna (Simonik) Sidlosky, and had been a lifelong city resident. She had been employed as an Accounting Clerk with the Torin-Nidec Corporation, retiring after 30 years of service.  Elizabeth was a graduate of Sacred Heart School, a 1951 graduate of Torrington High School, a communicant of St. John Paul the Great Parish, formerly with Sacred Heart Church, Torrington, and a member of the Slovak Catholic Sokols. Elizabeth loved to take care of her family, was proud of her Slovak heritage, enjoyed cooking and taking weekly trips to the Rhode Island beaches. She was a diehard UCONN men’s and women’s basketball fan, enjoyed watching Lifetime movies and simply being at home.

Survivors include three children, Diane M. LaGamba and her husband, Mark Zukowski, of West Simsbury, Nicholas C. LaGamba, Jr., of Winsted and his partner Patti Harris, and Susan M. LaGamba of Torrington; a brother, Clement Sidlosky and his wife, Penelope, of Torrington; and several nieces and nephews. Elizabeth was predeceased by her brother, Jacob Sidlosky, Jr., and her sister, Mary Kufchak.

Elizabeth’s children would like to express their appreciation, gratitude and thanks to the ICU at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital for their respectful and compassionate care of their mother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:15.a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:15 to 10:15a.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home.
