Imre Biro

Torrington- Imre Biro, 86, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at his home. He was the beloved husband of 52 years of Maria V. (Vida) Biro.

        Mr. Biro was born in Koroncó, Hungary, on December 16, 1935, son of the late Menyhart and Margit (Jambor) Biro. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1961 and has been a Torrington resident since 1974. Mr. Biro will be remembered as a hard worker and a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Foothills Visiting Nurses and Smilow Cancer Center, Torrington, for the wonderful care given to Imre.

        Survivors, in addition to his wife, Maria, include a daughter, Marianna Williams and her husband, Eric, of Torrington; two grandchildren, Gunther Gundlach and Ilona Gundlach; and several nieces and nephews in Hungary.

        A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, September 28, 2022, at 11:00a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington. Entombment will follow in St. Peter Cemetery Mausoleum, Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
