Irene R. (Dubill) Liptak

Torrington-Irene R. Liptak, 98, passed away peacefully at Shady Oaks Assisted Living, Bristol on Sunday February 4, 2024.  She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Edward Liptak. 

        Irene was born November 29, 1925 in Simpson, PA, daughter of the late Steven and Mary (Korshnak) Dubill. She was employed by MassMutual Insurance as an Executive Administrative Assistant.  Irene was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis Church, Torrington and an active member in the St. Francis School Mother’s Club.  Spending time with her family was her first priority. Post retirement, she enjoyed swimming at the Torrington YMCA and traveling with both her spouse, her siblings, and her children. 

        She was a gentle and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and is survived by three children, Robert and Jeanne Liptak of York, PA; Denis and Kathy Liptak of Plymouth, MA; Diane and Ken Zetarski of Plainville, CT.  several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her brother, Edward Dubill of Torrington and her sister, Margaret Stancavage of Milford, CT.

        A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, February 8,2024 at 11AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. John Paul the Great Parish), 160 Main St, Torrington. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Torrington.  Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington is in care of arrangements.
