James W. Lee

Torrington- James W. Lee, 79, passed away Friday, July 4, 2025, at his home.

    James was born in New Preston on August 10, 1945, son of the late James T. Lee and Helen V. (Jesson) Lee, moved to Warren in 1960, and later lived in Torrington for over 40 years. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Era Veteran. James was a member of the American Legion Post in Warren and enjoyed hiking and biking. He believed in having compassion, respect, understanding, dignity, and empathy for others.

    Survivors include a son, James H. Lee of Torrington; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Lee was predeceased by two daughters, Diane Lee and Angela DuBuois; and two sisters, Carol Jones and Doris Bortlien.

    Memorial services followed by Full Military Honors will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 at 2:00p.m. at Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington. 

    At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Community Kitchen of Torrington, 220 Prospect St., Torrington, CT 06790.
