Torrington- James J. Radocy, Jr., 76, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, at Litchfield Woods Healthcare Center, Torrington.
Mr. Radocy was born in Torrington on December 24, 1945, son of the late James J. Radocy, Sr., and Anna A. (Hovanak) Radocy, and had been a lifelong city resident. He was a retired machinist with the Torrington Company, retiring with 43 years of service. James was a lifelong communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington. In his younger years, he served as an altar boy and later as an usher. James was a Union Steward at the Torrington Company and a member of the Board of Directors of Northwest Hills Credit Union.
Survivors include a brother, Robert R. Radocy and his wife, Sue, of Lititz, PA; a daughter, Michelle D. Lehmann and her husband, Gerald, of Lathrop, MO; two grandchildren, Samuel C. Anstett of Goshen and Alexander M. Sauer of Lathrop, MO; and a great-granddaughter, Scarlett R. Anstett. James was predeceased by his lifelong significant other, Eleanor V. Richardson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 10:00a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 160 Main St., Torrington. Burial will follow in New St. Francis Cemetery, Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
