Torrington- James M. “Jim” Reilly, 75, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Torrington. He was the beloved husband of the late Joyce C. (Yakubowski) Reilly.
Mr. Reilly was born in London, England, on August 11, 1946, son of the late Timothy and Hannah (Walsh) Reilly, and had been a Torrington resident for over 40 years. Jim was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church of St. John Paul the Great Parish, Torrington. He was a volunteer with Little League baseball and at Friendly Hands Food Bank. Jim was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Yankees, Rangers, and UConn Women’s Basketball. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer Ives-Groebl and her husband, Joseph, of Torrington; two grandchildren, Mattheu Groebl and Jacob Groebl; a brother, Eugene Reilly and his wife, Christine, of Aurora, CO; two sisters, Mary Ellen Altendorfer of the Bronx, NY, and Rose Ann Billings and her husband, John, of Montrose, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by a brother, Timothy Reilly.
Graveside services will be held Friday, June 10, 2022, at 11:30a.m. at Hillside Cemetery, 76 Walnut St., Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
