Jean S. (Strandberg) Pasco

Torrington- Jean S. Pasco, 95, passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Avon Health Center. She was the wife of the late Larry Pasco.

          Jean was born in Torrington on March 23, 1926, daughter of the late Oscar and Nellie (Bolle) Strandberg, and had been an area resident most of her life. She had been employed as a salesperson at Freeman Jewelers in Torrington and later J.C. Penney, retiring with 27 years of service. Jean was a member of Center Congregational Church, Torrington, for over 50 years. She was also a member of the Sullivan Senior Center, Torrington, the Connecticut Norden Lodge V.O.A.  Jean had a great love for her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards, Scrabble, watching Jeopardy, knitting, and completing crossword puzzles with her favorite ink pen.

          Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Sloan and his wife Debbie, of Madison, and Douglas Sloan and his wife Thu, of Torrington; a daughter, Susan Sloan and her husband Bob of Orlando, FL; two brothers, Peter Strandberg of Warrentown, OR, and Jeffrey Strandberg and his wife, Margherita, of Mechanicsburg, PA; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her sisters, Phyllis Falk and Barbara Niver, a grandson, Evan Troy Richardson, and nephews Frederick Falk (Vietnam), Robert Niver, and Wayne Niver.

          The family would like to express their special thanks to the nurses and staff at Avon Health Center, for the wonderful care shown to Jean during her stay.

          Graveside services will be held July 17, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Hillside Cemetery, 76 Walnut St., Torrington. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
