John V. Barber, Jr.

Torrington- John V. Barber, Jr., 68, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, with his beloved Fiancée, Jean Kincaid Ross, at his side.

        John was born in Winsted on October 8, 1955, son of Jeannine (Carlson) Barber of Winsted and the late John V. Barber, Sr., and had been an area resident most of his life. He had been employed as a truck driver, serving with various companies over the years. John enjoyed building and repairing computers, gaming, watching movies, and reading.

        Survivors, in addition to his mother, Jeannine, and Fiancée, Jean, include two sons, Christopher Barber and John V. Barber, III; three brothers, Peter, Kenneth, and Steven; two grandchildren, Victoria and Scarlett Barber; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats, Iggy, Ozzy, and Grace.

        Services will be held privately. Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, Torrington, is in care of arrangements.
